Classic Elegance at the Tutwiler Hotel for Jenny and Mike’s wedding day

Jennifer and Michael dreamed of a simple but classic and elegant wedding day experience in Birmingham Alabama with the fresh new landscape of budding blooms and greenery in the Spring.  Jennifer had visions of a grand and regal entrance when she made her way down the aisle and we knew, after searching many days, that The Tutwiler Hotel in downtown Birmingham was the perfect space to achieve this look!   Rich jewel tone colors were a striking contract to the spectacular greenery surrounding the property.  Hand tied florals mark the family rows at the end of the aisle   Jenny and her bridesmaids had the balcony suite upstairs to prepare for the day beginning with hair and make up, while this stunning wedding gown from Diane’s Formal Affair hangs beautifully by the french doors of the suite.           Jennifer’s bridal bouquet is another striking contract of red red roses against her gorgeous ivory beaded gown.  Bride Jennifer’s florals for her wedding day were created by Mandy Majerik of Hot House Design Studios               A first sweet moment with her daddy, Father of the bride is taking it all in….   Those colorful jewel tones are simply gorgeous with white florals for our bridesmaids, while bride Jenny carries all red roses with a white collar       The groom and his guys having a great time downtown, right outside the Tutwiler Hotel   Handsome groomsmen dressed in their classy tuxedoes from Mr. Burch Formalwear in Mountain Brook Alabama   Simple yet elegant reception centerpiece of those beautiful colors of orange, berries and whites along side rustic... read more

Summer Lake Side Wedding for Lacey and Nik

The bride’s family lake house on Lake Mitchell was the gorgeous setting for Lacey and Nik’s Summer wedding day.  Blue skies above, calm waters on the lake and lots of excitement in the air.  The lake house had been a common family gathering place to the bride’s family so it was very special for Lacey and Nik to marry in the same special location where so much love and laughter has been shared and will continue for years to come. Bride Lacey wanted all her puppy dogs to be a part of her day and this little one was close by during hair and make up preparations..   All the details were in place to reflect the warm and loving lake lifestyle the family enjoys including koozies with a map of the area   More puppy love for bride Lacey   The “get-a-way” boat is polished and ready to skip out over the water immediately after the couple says “I Do”!   The other end of the pier right off the lake house was a screen in dock we made into the “Cigar Bar”.. Guests enjoyed fine cigars in the cool evening air               A precious moment with her flower girl wearing the big girl shoes   The boat house is set and ready for a whimsical, light airy ceremony with most of the window panes lifted and opened inviting fresh breezes inside   Ready to see his bride for the first time, Nik is waiting in anticipation   The first look….       Puppies enjoy the first look as well……  ... read more

Enjoy the process of planning your wedding day

Hello my sweet brides!  My blog and website are under a massive reconstruction at the moment but I still want to keep up my blog posts and this is the only place to do this until my new site is up and running.  Thank you for being patient and WAIT until you see the new site!!  It is coming along and looking spectacular!!  I’m very excited! I have been planning weddings for the past 16 years all over the country including Birmingham Alabama, Los Angeles California and everywhere in between and have met so many incredible families during this time… a common thread amongst these sweet brides and their families is so much anxiety and feelings of stress for so many various reasons from the details turning out to look like the visions the brides have developed on their pinterest boards to worrying about family members getting along on this one special day.  The advise I find myself giving away is that no matter how much people will not get along and how much detail comes to life or doesn’t come to life due to weather issues or budget or time, you are STILL going to have your special day and all the ingredients that come together to make this day all yours will be all the memories you carry with you throughout your lifetime.  The goal is of course, your wedding day but the journey getting there is just as important and can be just as enjoyable.  Here are a few tips that may help you along the way: 1.  Keep your sense of humor – You know... read more
