Jaley and Will | Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa | Birmingham Alabama | AK Brides | Real Wedding

Jaley and Will are two successful Birmingham professionals who were so ready to say “I Do” and have a great party to celebrate their union together.  Incorporating elegance and a fun night was not difficult to do with this awesome and fun loving bride and groom and a fabulous venue like Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa. There were so many beautiful details in this design plan for the ceremony and reception from soft white draping fabric at the alter area with crystal chandeliers to a sweet memory table filled with family wedding heirlooms.  Here are some of the images capturing the day from our star photographer Allison Lewis Photography!   Enjoy!             Our Flower Girl was absolutely adorable and wore the same little white dress that our bride Jaley wore when she herself was a flower girl many years ago.             Exquisite aisle runner with a personal monogram absolutely made this aisle come together!           This was one of my most favorite moments in my career as a wedding planner when our tiny flower girl just decided she was flat out tired and wanted to take a nap…. so sweet!!       We love included our fur babies for the bride and groom in wedding pictures on wedding day!                                                         Thank you to the many wedding professionals who worked so tirelessly on this wedding for our bride... read more

Lisette and Wynn | City Club of Birmingham | Birmingham Alabama | AK Brides | Real Wedding

What a glorious wedding day for our bride Lisette and her groom Wynn with so many sweet details in place.   Lisette wanted her wedding day to reflect her regal sense of style,  traditional elegance and her love for lace and all things pretty.    We started the day at The Tutwiler Hotel with hair and make up in the balcony suite.  Her gown was a gorgeous design by Judd Waddell from The White Room in Mountain Brook and she wore her sweet Mama’s cathedral length lace veil to complete her look.  After a beautiful ceremony at All Saints Episcopal Church ,  guests enjoyed an elegant seated dinner at The City Club of Birmingham overlooking the entire city and a spectacular view followed by lots of dancing and a great night of fun!      A very special detail incorporated into the day’s design was the Ginko tree and the leaf’s significance to our bride and groom meaning resilience and fortitude.    We sprinkled this little detail in the paper suite and also by the escort card table just for that sweet touch of remembering how they met under a Ginko tree on the campus of Birmingham Southern College.    The night ended with Lisette and Wynn taking a romantic stroll up the street from the reception venue back over to the Tutwiler.  It was completely enchanting!    Our photographer David Boyd Photography captured every special moment for us throughout the day!! Caitlin and Ben | Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa | Birmingham Alabama | AK Brides | Real Wedding

Caitlin and Ben are both “top of the charts” Disney fanatics and when our bride came to us and told us her dream theme for her wedding day, I was so excited to get started on all the planning details and the fun!  Not only were her little toe nails painted with Mickey Mouse ears, we even had a a sparkling blue “Cinderella Sipper” and the “Mad Hatter” signature drinks but we also had a show stopper wedding cake topped with a Swarovski Crystal castle!  Wait staff entered the ballroom in unison with trays of plated entrees to the theme song from Beauty and the Beast “Be Our Guest”. Caitlin chose colors of purples, lavenders and silvers displayed throughout the details including the linens, table top chargers, centerpieces and her stunning bridal teardrop bouquet.  Don’t miss the glass slipper on the ring bearer’s pillow! Our host venue, Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa did an outstanding job serving all of our guests and all of our professional vendors went above and beyond their creative talents to transform this ballroom into a magical Disney experience!                                                                                             Our “Cinderella Sipper” signature drink!!         How much fun are these Mickey ears and gloves!!!  All of their guests were treated to the mouse ears and some fun things throughout the night!   A beautiful first dance... read more

Ginna and Ty | Mountain Brook Alabama | AK Brides | Real Wedding

Oh my goodness, this is Southern elegance at it’s finest!!  Our sweet bride Ginna wanted all of her family and friends to have the best time at her wedding with the best band available so they can dance the night away!  Surrounding all of the fun would be the finer elements of her wedding day with lush green garlands and white and pink florals.  Ginna described her wedding day as a beautiful Summer garden with romance  at the top of the list.   Streaming ribbons flowed from her bridesmaids bouquets and the garlands and wreaths at the church and the country club.  Even our bride’s Anne Barge wedding gown from The White Room exuded romance and elegance with head to toe lace and a lace trimmed cathedral length veil.   The piece de resistance came towards the end of the night when Father of the bride got up on stage and serenaded his wife of 20 plus years.  Pass the kleenex please!!! Ginna and Ty’s love story began in China where they both worked and studied.  Their love for the Orient continued with their honeymoon in Thailand!!    They both wanted their wedding day to reflect their travels as well as their love story.   The club provided a bountiful display of Asian type foods and stir fry selections.  Baby Bites from Pastry Art represented our Groom with Chinese writing on each yummy treat and his table display had that artistic Asian flare, even adding fortune cookies!     Guests signed greetings to the bride and groom in a wonderful coffee table book of Chinese culture. Come and enjoy their romantic day full... read more
